n. a person who sells writing materials etc. Phrases and idioms Stationers' Hall Brit. the hall of the Stationers' Company in London, at which a book was formerly registered for purposes of copyright. Etymology: ME, = bookseller (as STATIONARY in med.L sense 'shopkeeper', esp. bookseller, as opposed to pedlar)
